I know I’m not the target audience for this book, but… Junie B. is the literary equivalent of Angelica Pickles. Her only redeeming quality is that she likes books and the library.
Very silly! My six year old cracked up many times.
slow-paced
Loved these books as a child and remember circling all of them in my scholastic catalog ; however as an adult reading them my view has changed. The story is written with a child’s vocabulary which could be fine but there is a lot of improper grammar that probably is not the best for kids to read. Also I didn’t realize how bratty Junie is!! That being said I think I turned out fine
Genre: Realistic Contemporary Fiction
Grade Level: 1-4
This book is super cute as are all Junie B. Jones books. There are many fun adventures that pursue in this book. I would recommend this book for most elementary students because there are problems that they may face, and the words are small so it will be nice for the learning readers to read really fast.

Annnnd this, yep. I read the whole series pretty sure. I remember having the collection after teacher introduced it to us.
I thought this one was hilarious, I remember. Definitely early 2000s.

I know this is popular with kids, but I really didn't like it. Junie B. seems bratty. It is written in the vernacular of a child...but not in a good way. In this book, Park wrote "I rided the bus" or something to that affect. How is that supposed to teach children correct grammar? Not impressed.
Not sure why I'm reading this as a 27 year old.. But It was a cute quick read lol
After having worked with preschoolers and kindergarteners, I definitely see them in Junie B.'s voice.
On her first day of kindergarten, Junie is told she'll get chocolate milk poured on her if she rides the bus. So, what's a girl to do? Hide, of course.
