This was so cute. It made me feel so nostalgic, I wish I was a kid again, truly.
Read this book to my younger siblings (ages 4 and 6). I remember reading this as a child but don't remember Junie B. as the monster that I see her as now . It did grant us the perfect moment to talk about what is and isn't acceptable behavior, though.
Overall, it was an entertaining read for them. They especially loved the suspense when Junie. They also seemed to relate to the portrayal of first-day jitters, or "feeling squeezy" as Junie calls it.
I have no problem with somewhat flawed characters, I feel like children can learn from them just as much as the perfect role model type. But children are also impressionable. As long as I don't catch them mimicking the behavior in the book, I will probably continue the series with them.
