I’ve read this twice as part of my teaching job. It’s honestly the most obnoxious book. It’s like a poor man’s Beezus and Ramona. Junie B. Is seriously the biggest little shit I’ve ever seen in a children’s book. I can’t believe people give this to their children to read.
Perfect time to read to my daughter, who just turned 6 and is in KG and her middle name matches Junie's best friend's name. It's a perfect book to read through my daughter's sight words for school but also allows her to sound out words she doesn't know yet. She read about a quarter of the book with my help.

Exceeded my expectations and was a bit funnier to boot. Didn't realize how impertinent and sassy little Junie B. is nor that she would have a Home Alone-esque romp through her empty school. Narrator was great, with vocal inflections and a delivery that just sealed the jokes. Fun and quick - I see why this is a popular series.
I just read this book to my 5-almost-6-yr-old daughter and she loves it. Me... Hmmm, the story is cute but I'm not so sure about Junie B and her use of language like stupid or hate and how she dislikes other kids... even if they were mean in the story. I can see where some kids can be like Junie B but I dunno, maybe cause my kid's not like that I have a hard time relating to the child. The good thing is that my dd is a good kid and she understands that Junie B's behaviors were not good and we talked about things a "normal" good kid can and cannot do.
When I read the book my husband was there too and he got some good laugh out loud moments. My dd thought the book's cute and funny but I didn't hear her laugh while I was reading.
My daughter thinks I should give this a 5 star. I think 3 is good enough for it.

Read for my first grade class. Their pick, not mine. Out of the series, this one is not a favorite. Out of 21 students 9 gave thumbs up 2 sideways thumbs and 9 thumbs down.
