Holy crap...the ending was so tough to read, made me cry.

Audio is excellent.

This book had some intensely emotional parts that were beautifully executed, and some parts that seemed out of place. The timeline was confusing, for example.
This book explores mental health issues at the end, but it was so sudden and without any foreshadowing, that it was also confusing.
I enjoyed the character development and the exploration of mental health issues, but I wish it had been in more of the book.
I also felt like the story didn't even start until more than half way through. I think the author was trying to raise the stakes by showing the friendship, but it made it exhausting to read because nothing was happening.
I'm giving it 4 stars because of the impactful emotional scenes and the interesting characters.
