OMG IT'S OVER!

I swear I can see the light at the end of the tunnel guys. I'm free from this series and I'm so happy it was only 2.5 books. I can't contain all of my excitement right now. It's over. It's really over.

Okay, so Dangerous Deception was so freaking boring. I might be in the minority of this book but I swear to god people.. did we read the same book? There is no way that this should earn 5 stars - like, at all.

So Ridley gets captured in this book and is basically held hostage for the entire book. Color me shocked because the entire book is about her friends looking for her. THE ENTIRE BOOK PEOPLE. I don't even like Ridley that much to spend an entire book looking for her. Honestly, I didn't even care if they did find her or not. Just know.. that I would've ditched that search party real quick.

Besides not liking Ridley, I still don't like Link or Nox. Again, it didn't matter to me that Link and Ridley weren't together for more than half of the book. Also, the ending did nothing for me. I'm not shooked from it. I simply just didn't care for it. I kind of forced myself to finish off this series and I'm glad that it's finally over.

Plus it was really stupid, cliche, and predictable that the only person who could save Ridley from where ever she was.. well, was herself. Congrats Ridley you did it.. it just took you a whole book to figure it out though. Aside from Link and Ridley, Nox also annoyed me to no end. He was acting like a baby back bitch for most of the book. I just wanted to slap the shit out of him and tell him to man up.

Overall, I'm disappointed in this spin off series but that's mostly because I just didn't like the characters. I don't even know why I wanted to read them in the first place.. maybe I was hoping that they would change my opinion of them.. but it actually made me hate them a hell of lot more.

Sorry to everyone that actually liked this series - you guys are still winners in my book! Keep reading my friends <3

This was a great sequel, picking up right where the last left off. While it hasn't been confirmed, there must be a 3rd book. There was a lot left unresolved at the end of this story. It was very fast paced and interesting. Looking forward to the next book!

What the hell how do you end a book like this

Overall I kinda had to force my way through this book, the central plotline is that Ridley gets locked up and everyone wants to save her, and that is the whole book. And listen I'm all for not doing the obvious happy ending but like, this ending wasn't it. Not at all. Honestly wish I never read this little series, it really didn't add anything to the main series or the Ridley/Link dynamic

"You see, there are these remarkable things called books. They're full of pages and pages of words. Maybe you've heard of them. Or maybe not."

There is really enchanting about this book, this spin-off series (and Caster Chronicles, of course), that I constantly loved them after I've finished reading them. Even I noticed something is off, my mind has already (fabricated) a reason and an explanation for that. I don't know why. LOL.

I love this sequel. It weren't perfect or anything but I really enjoyed reading this book. From the plot to the characters, it was all good to me. Even I found the combination of magic and science is super surreal, I don't care as long as the story is making sense. Even there's no concrete explanation (though oftentimes, I really need an explanation. (I'm biased, I know)), I'm ok with it. Yes, the plot has gone crazy again. It's being ridiculous and not. But I found it intriguing rather than annoying because oh well, I want to know what will happen to the world again with all the crazies.

Dangerous Deception took me to deeper and darker parts of the Caster world. It explored what I don't know about that magical world. Its secrets and whatnots. It also filled the void about what happened after the Order has been changed. But most importantly, it showed me who exactly is Ridley Duchannes. And I did understand her well. And it hurts.

The excitement and dread is adding up on me now to know what will happen to Link and Ridley and their love story along the way. And what roles the new and old characters will play as the story progresses. Especially now that the new characters are all intriguing and felt like they are all up to something.

After the car crash that ends Dangerous Creatures, Ridley goes missing. So Link, his bandmates, and former club owner Nox go in search of her. But when they find her? Well they find more than they bargained for.

Ridley and Link are two of my favorite characters from the Beautiful Creatures series. Thus, it is very hard for me to not like one of these spin-off series books. I read this one more slowly than I normally read books because of timing of other things going on as I read. I vacillated between 3 & 4 stars but opted for three just because it doesn’t seem like the story moved as far forward as it could have in this volume; it seemed like a good deal of pages and words were spent just going forward a smidge. Despite the slow movement though, fans of both series, this is a welcome edition. We will always clamor for “more” won’t we?!?!

This book wasn't a deception to me at all. :)

I like Ridley even more now. Ok, I feel very sorry for Link, but I think the ending makes perfect sense to her character. She's that girl.

This one was so disappointing. I love the series, love the characters, but I had a hard time focusing on the story. Hated the ending.
