I only have one thing to say.... I HATE SILAS!!! And only one question... Why the hell did you have to change Ridley so much? I liked where she was going with her life...

oh well... I cant wait for the next one :-)

Gah..this book was torture! Are there people out there who like Ridley? Cause I, for the life of me, can't find one redeeming quality about her. And all that just becomes more apparent in this installment.

She sold her effing boyfriend! Ok, I know that's old news and it happened in the first book, but I don't think that's something you come back from. So yeah, I carried that over into this one and when Ridley is kidnapped by evil Silas, I couldn't have cared less about what happens to her. But because this series really wants everyone to love her, the entire book focuses on trying to find her. That's literally all it is, everyone looking for her and Ridley getting experimented on.

I felt like the writing and the plot line were both just all over the place in this book. Nothing was solid and most everything seemed to rely heavily on previous works. Nothing new was learned, nothing new was gained and nothing really happened but a bunch of whining and complaining.

Oh yeah, and Ridley is a giant selfish bitch.

The ending was horrible, nothing was solved or even remotely concluded. So for this being an ending to this series, it seemed like the authors themselves couldn't even be bothered to actually come up with a decent ending and just stopped trying. I feel sorry for people who were actual huge fans of this series and wanted any sort of closing.

Yeah, and if this series was to get more people to root for Ridley - you failed...epically.

I always think I'm done with the Caster Chronicles then next thing I know I'm sucked in and hanging on for the ride.

Interesting turns were taken in this book and I appreciated it for that. I didn't realize that I grew an attachment to the newer characters until I was so happy to see them in the sequel.

I liked the original series better despite Ridley being one of my favorite characters. I felt like the story line just kept adding and adding pointless and unrelated stories.

Ridley is such a complex character. I love her, but this book was still frustrating for me to read some times. I kind of feel bad for Link. I don’t know. I guess I’m not as satisfied as I could have been with the ending.

I absolutely loved both this book and the overall spinoff series. I like that it wasn't a fairy-tale ending. And that shouldn't have come as a shock! Literally page 4 of Dangerous Creatures:

"No Caster is going to let you ride off into the sunset on some lame white unicorn or your boyfriend's beat-up excuse for a car.
What's a Caster fairy-tale ending?
I don't know, because Casters don't get to have fairy tales-especially not Dark Casters." - pg 4 Dangerous Creatures

Now, could have Nox stood his ground more, maybe. But this was supposed to the story of Link and Ridley.

After finishing this book, I realize just how fully I ship Ridley and Link together. And how much I absolutely hate people getting in the way of my ship. *cough* Lennox Gates *cough*. He is not someone I am too fond of, and Ridley, quite honestly, is making me nervous. Nothing in the Beautiful Creatures series ever made me nervous, but then again, I’ve never felt very emotionally attached to a bad character. I feel like this series won’t end happily, just because of who Ridley is and how her actions affect her life, never for good. I’m really hoping everything works out, and happily, and that Lennox just leaves because I do not like him.

While I love Ridley x Nox, I’m not sure I got it in the way that I wanted it. The ending was not very satisfying and is such a far cry from the ending of Beautiful Creatures.

But then again, Ridley’s story is a far cry from Ethan and Lena’s.

Where Ethan sacrificed himself for others, Ridley has sacrificed everyone else for herself.

This could stand to have a final book to tie up loose ends. But I’m fine being left where it is. Ridley isn’t exactly the tying up of loose ends kinda gal.

Loved Necro and Sampson in this one. Happy to see John and Liv again. Hated Floyd in this one. Very much “I’m not like the other girls” type of character.

Dangerous Creatures doesn’t stand as tall as the Beautiful Creatures series, but I was happy to have more of the characters.

Spoiler drug addiction, cheating

I wrote my review before I was fully finished reading this book but with each chapter I became more and more disappointed in Dangerous Deception and I had to rewrite my whole review. What I thought was going to be a three star read quickly dropped to a two star read and even now I’m wondering if I should lower my rating to one star… After how much I loved Dangerous Creatures, I was not expecting Dangerous Deception to flop this hard and there’s not even a third book so this series can’t redeem itself. I’m just so mad. I really read four long books, five novellas, then an average sized book to end it all with this mess of a book.

I accidentally read [b:A Gatlin Wedding|27885186|A Gatlin Wedding (Beautiful Creatures The Untold Stories, #4)|Kami Garcia|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1449918140l/27885186._SY75_.jpg|47890590] before reading this book so I knew what the big plot twist was. It made me dread reading this book. So much time throughout the Caster Chronicles and Dangerous Creatures was devoted to developing Ridley’s character. She’s a morally grey character and her character development was spectacular, but this book in a matter of minutes tossed all of her development out the window and ruined her character. I wish anything would’ve happened in this book besides the complete destruction of all the effort put into making Ridley who she was. I’m so frustrated with this book and I wish I could rewrite a large portion of this book to change it for the better.

This book had three points of view instead of two like the previous book in the series and it did not work well. It made the time and order of events in the story get messy. Link’s chapters were filled with action while Ridley’s and Nox’s weren’t filled with as much action. It felt like more time passed in Link’s chapters based on the amount of events in them but when it came down to it, they all magically came together in the end as if the three points of view took up the same amount of time. It didn’t make sense. It also didn’t help when a character went insane/psychotic and it caused me to lose track of the timeline even more.

I’m not saying this book was completely bad. I liked getting to spend more time with Link, Floyd, and Necro in Link’s chapters, but I don’t have many other positives for this book unfortunately.
