I really wanted to like this because usually I’m a sucker for fae romance stories but I just could not get into this book at all.

I’m not sure if it felt rushed to me or what, but it’s just a no from me unfortunately.

Was cute. I like the easy bond between the two, but sometimes it felt too easy. There were hints of jealousy that were never discussed or dealt with and I felt like the whole "who will be the next matchweaver" thing was.. obvious? Still, a fun several hours spent.

I have mixed feelings about this book. What I liked was the vividness of the imagery, like the color of swords and the shade of dragon scales. What I disliked was how the story grew increasingly disjointed as the pages went by — as though the author was in a rush and didn’t have time to properly construct and transition between scenes and settings. Indeed, the second half of the story was a blur of frantic motion, with the only slow bits pieces of romance that seemed just a bit out of place.

Granted, the story is good. The plot concept is interesting, and the characters fascinating. But the frenetic pace was quite a letdown.

Could not get into the story, a lot of the dialogue was incredibly cringey.

Great story

I enjoyed this one a bit more than the first and I really liked the first. I liked that there wasn’t the “will he love me” angst and their story took a different angle.

I just loved Rhianne and Werian’s story! I really liked Rhianne in her short appearance in Enchanting the Elven Mage so I was so happy to read her story! She’s just fabulous. She takes on every challenge that comes her way and doesn’t back down from anything. And Werian is hilarious. His cocky and over the top personality is fantastic and I really enjoyed getting to know him more in this story. The story is exciting and has elements of Robin Hood, but it’s still entirely it’s own story. The writing is excellent and the descriptions are perfect. I think this is my favourite book I’ve read from Alisha Klapheke, her writing keeps getting better with every book and I always look forward to reading more from her!

I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.
