This book was love at first sight for me<3! The cover was absolutely enchanting. The title did come off as a bit odd for me, but I was defiantly intrigued. This book was nothing like I thought it would be; to be honest I expected less out of it. I'm so glad that the book proved me wrong! The author did a marvelous job on the characters and the plot has such interesting twist and turns. I even shared it with a friend and we are now both obsessed with this white rabbit chronicles. This book does mostly depend on your tastes, though I do believe it ATLEAST deserve a chance!!!

I was really interested in the twist and from my friend’s raving reviews! Though unfortunately I lost interest and couldn’t bring myself to finish this book, it just didn’t live up to what I expected it to be. It seemed more of a rehash of mediocre early 2010s books instead of a creative yet dark twist on the beloved: Alice in Wonderland.

Wow! So good! The beginning was a bit slow but I suppose it was to explain everything. Then the second half took off! Zombies, bad guys, good guys, visions--oh yeah, I'm ready for book 2! But like, in a couple of days. I need to calm down!

I was pleasantly surprised how Ms. Showalter made a fresh version of the Zombie tale so enticing, dark and still humorous. I was expecting a Alice in Wonderland type fairy tale but it was not that at all. I found the first 50 pages a bit dull and almost dropped the book. But then something tugged at my interest and never let go throughout the rest of the book. I should have know better I have enjoyed many of her other works I've read.
I loved her realistic characters with their real-life flaws.the way they interacted with each other was realistic as well, no Insta-love, insta-trust, ints a-ok after a terrible event. It was a treat to able to believe in their actions.
The zombie are so evil, rotten and have some new qualities that will make anyone cringe. Throw out your preconceived notions these guys are their own kind of nasty. Omg they stink, rot !
Our heroine is not the glassy eyed sweet victim. No, Alice/Ali can kick but, slice and dice and light a fire too. She has a love interest, well maybe two but it is not the most impotent thing for her to deal with and she knows it.
I am going to keep going with this series. I really liked it.

I will admit, when I first saw this title I thought the world of Wonderland but after reading some reviews I found out that was not the case. with that readjusted mindset, I was able to enjoy this book very much. it was definitely a new and original twist on zombies. the building up to the climax seemed to be much slower paced than the climax itself. up until the last few chapters I was like ''ok but whats the conflict? what's the problem?'' and the 'bad guys' kinda come out of nowhere like it barely spent time building up to that it was just kind of, thrown at us. overall I'm pleased and will be reading the following books.

This was just fun. There were (as always) a few things that triggered the critical side of my brain, but the fun of this story and the characters was so much stronger than the few hiccups I ran into. Ali, Kat, Cole, Frosty, Mackenzie...all the characters were interesting and fun. The dialogue was snappy and realistic. The twist on zombies was new (I haven't read a lot of zombie books, but I'm pretty sure this is original). The romantic parts were both romantic and humorous.

I should probably be more specific, but honestly, this was pure fun for me and I'll probably be buying the sequel today.

This book started out really strong. I was very excited to see what happens next. UNTIL it turned into boyfriend drama! I didn't finish it because i couldn't take it!

This started off really good, and managed to have a pretty creepy atmosphere. But once she joins the zombie hunter group, I lost a bit of interest. I also don't really care for the romantic interest all that much.

If you're expecting an Alice in Wonderland retelling with Zombies this is not the book for you. The Alice mets Zombies theme is more metaphorical than literal as the protagonist, Alice Bell's transition into a strange world is really an awakening of sorts into a world were monsters are real.

On the night of Alice's 16th birthday her mother, father and little sister are killed. The trauma and reasons behind it stimulate something within Ali into seeing Zombies. She always discounted these creatures as the crazy ramblings of her drunk paranoid father. How wrong she was! This incident then propels Ali into a world of Good versus Evil and a literal fight for survival and vengeance. Ali is strong and determined. She cares for her family, her friends and isn't self-centred. Her determination and drive is the main reasons I like her. She feels guilt over her family - a mix of responsibility and survivors guilt - but does not spend the entire book dwelling on, being overly emotional or annoying with it (as I've read in other books) she finds an outlet and uses this to her advantage.

At a new school Ali meets Cole Holland and it's not love at first sight but a mix of infatuation, intrigue and desire. Cole feels the same. This is not like Twilight (thankfully!) as Ali is her own woman and resists Cole until they get to know each other better. Their attraction to each other is strong but not annoying or clingy and Cole acts as a strong mentor and trainer into this new world and their relationship forms into a partnership as they see and appreciate the strengths in each other.

Kat, Ali's best friend, is the light hearted character needed within the book and offers a good balance reminding you that they are teenagers at the end of the day with teenage priorities other than dusting Zombies.

The "twist" at the end was not a shocker but worked setting the series up nicely.

I picked this up as a Gena Showalter fan knowing full well as it's a young adults book it would not be explicit. I have tried other young adult books by Ms Showalter and didn't enjoy them. This one I REALLY did!

It's an enjoyable read that will fill an afternoon or a couple of evenings.
