I wanted to like this more, but it was a bit too vague and the dialogue was a bit too confusing for a first issue to feel terribly compelled to continue on. We'll see.

An intriguing beginning to the story that promises awesome characters and gorgeous artwork. Not a whole lot of world building yet, which left me with questions, but I'm along for the ride.

I'm so confused, this was barely a story. Just a serious of fantasy names and references with no worldbuilding or context. I'm rating it so low because I'm not even sure this counted as reading. It's listed as #1 in the series, am I missing something?

The artwork is great, and I love the diversity of characters, but the story is so confusing. The world building felt less like a gradual exploration and understanding, and more like having a bunch of rocks thrown at you. It tries to establish so much in such a short span and it didn't really work. Unfortunate, because I feel like with better execution this could be the beginning of a great series.

“For there is nothing more beautiful and dangerous than a wild woman. She is life. She is spirit.”

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH.

Beautiful artwork and great character design. This first issue set up enough of the world that I am excited to continue reading. I'm feeling an esoteric vibe and elements of the wilderness is making me think Avatar (James Cameron's).

An intriguing start. So far, there are more questions than answers but I am looking forward to exploring the series further and unravelling these a bit more. I like all of the character designs and a couple of the full page spreads were truly gorgeous so it looks promising!

Maybe it'll be elaborated on in another book, but where did man go that we were initially following in The Untamed? I feel like the story suffers from jumping around and the characters making rash decisions that don't feel appropriate. While the art can be incredible, I feel like the quality can be inconsistent.
