I was really excited about this. But I felt like I came to the middle of an ongoing story and missing a lot of key information. Art work was beautiful. I may just need to read on to find out more.

Beautiful illustrations but the story line was very vague and confusing.

I wanted to like this more, but it was a bit too vague and the dialogue was a bit too confusing for a first issue to feel terribly compelled to continue on. We'll see.

I liked the story but felt it was a bit rushed, especially the love story. The world building could have been developed or explained more. So there is potential there. The art is very pretty. The lines are clean and easy to interpret what going on. I love the colors.

I just wish instead of 4 issues it could have been longer so that the story could have been developed more.

Beautiful art, but slightly confusing story.

I've recently begun my search of attempting to not only find more independently published comics to read, but also ones that are written by BIPOC authors specifically Black writers. Little did I know this comic has been releasing over the past few years and the primary writer is Amandla Stenberg who I know from a lot of YA movie adaptations that have been getting picked up. To be quite honest, I can't even begin to tell you what the story is about. It appears to be a clashing between a young girl by the name of Niobe and her elfin father. She appears to travel to this other land and then it gets a little confusing from there. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous and is full of these deep, rich colors that assist in building this fantasy world. I think that this is one of those comic series where each issue will begin to reveal a little more about the plot and then it'll all just fit together. Overall, I thought it was intriguing and I'm definitely interested in picking up the next issue.

I liked the artwork and coloring. I think that the character designs, especially of the elves, were new and refreshing. I was iffy on the plot. After reading, I found out that this story is part of a larger universe. Maybe the plot would have made more sense to me had I read the rest of the universe, but it was fine as a stand-alone too.

I wanted to like this sooooo much, but I really didn't. I bought this at Denver Comic Con after asking the table for a graphic novel that was specifically written by non-cishet-men or POC - as that was my goal for Comic Con. Niobe sounded exciting when they explained it to me, and it had absolutely beautiful cover art, so I was expecting and hoping to love it.

But, the story was very choppy and confusing. There were a ton of made up words with no explanation of what it meant. Half the time I wasn't sure if something was a title, species, or name. The exposition between chapters was extremely confusing, and half the time, I wasn't sure what it was referencing.

I still want to give other portions of this story a try; I just might get them from a library rather than buy it.

Beautiful artwork and great character design. This first issue set up enough of the world that I am excited to continue reading. I'm feeling an esoteric vibe and elements of the wilderness is making me think Avatar (James Cameron's).

A protagonista semella interesante (e as heroínas de cor nunca sobran), mais a narración é algo difícil de seguir. Pode que me falte contexto.

Iso si, tanto ilustración como tintas molan mil!
