As a computer nerd and lover of graphic novels, this was fantastic. Absolutely wonderful.

A solid follow up to volume 1. We get more coding opportunities that really builds off each foundation in a way that's easy to understand. (And if I can understand it, a kid certainly can!) There's plenty of plots to keep readers engaged if the coding isn't their thing also, but there are a lot of cliffhangers. Many important conversations keep getting put off for the sake of coding or moving the story along. I'm looking forward to more answers eventually.

*There are many things I really like about this series:
1) It is smart.
2) It is written for kids who are coders or noncoders.
3) It is interactive.
4) The characters are diverse and relatable.
5) It has math in it but without making it too obvious.
What I don't like about this series:
1) THE CLIFFHANGERS!

Just as fun as the first one, but with more complicated codes. No worries, you can skip over the hard math stuff and still totally understand the story.
Full disclosure: I received this eARC from netgalley.

I’m not a fan of the green, white, and black color scheme. And it’s a little too STEM heavy for me.

Enjoyable coding mystery. Rates two eye-rolls for Hopper’s thank-you kiss which made one of the boys momentarily jealous of the other. I loved how the coding was done — the reader sees what’s going on in Hopper’s imagination. I found the green and black pictures were tiring to read.
