So happy I found all of these in trade! Like I said in my review of the volume 3, this run is the reason I got into comics. Steph is one of my favorite characters, and probably my favorite non-Marvel female character. Miss her.

Bryan Q. Miller's advent of Stephanie Brown as Batgirl, with Barbara Gordon coming to terms with Stephanie taking on that role.

As grim and soul crushing as Batman stories can and often are it's interesting how empowering, fun and playful Batgirl, Birds of Prey and other Batman adjacent titles can be and this is no different. Stephanie Brown makes a great Batgirl and slides seamlessly into this universe. The art is solid and Miller is a good storyteller.

A pretty fun book, with Stephanie Brown taking over the role of Batgirl as a sort of outside-observer into the cloistered Bat-family in the wake of Batman RIP. The writing is light and fun, closer in tone to something like Spider-Man than a normal Bat title. The art leaves something to be desired, though -- it does its job most of the time, but doesn't really have a lot of oomph. A fun trip, though.
