I honestly never liked Molly Shannon’s movies or SNL skits, I found her annoying. But her resilience and genuine optimistic outlook on life are inspiring.

Love Molly Shannon - now even more so than when I read her story.

I don't think I'll star this one. Celebrity memoirs aren't my thing, so if they're yours you will probably like it.
Entertaining, but not as reflective as I was expecting. She's been through a lot, and survived, and I respect that, but I didn't feel the struggle. She doesn't owe anybody that, of course, and maybe she wasn't putting it out there, either. I really don't know. Like I said, maybe just not my thing.
It also felt kind of disjointed but maybe that comes with the territory of celebrity memoir.

Wow, Molly Shannon shares extremely personal details about her tragic family past, her early career, her time on SNL and various movies and her rocky relationship with her alcoholic father. Told with Molly's trademark humor and wit, this book will make you both laugh and cry. I confess I absolutely hated her Superstar character Mary Katherine Gallagher but hearing how personal that character was for Molly and the inspiration behind her, plus how hard she fought to get her on SNL, gave me a whole new appreciation. Really enjoyable on audio read by the author. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy!!
