It took me a month just to finish this book because of how beautifully detailed the descriptions are. I have so many highlights on my kindle its ridiculous. It's obvious that the author took great care to not write the same repeating descriptions, which is greatly appreciated. I would love to hear an audiobook version of this series.

I hesitated started because I know it's only book 1. As a Maria Luis fan, I know how addicting her books are. I gave in and now I'm anxiously awaiting book 2. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down! The Alpha male has met his female match!! ♥️♥️

So this review is probably going to be on the short side cuz this book is just incredible and I don’t want to give anything away! With that being said....
Everything about this book was amazing! Just the perfect amount of dark and suspense. Gosh this book was everything.
From the way Saxon and Isla meet. To the way Saxon is as a person, all dark, brooding and mysterious. And Isla was such a surprise for me. She wasn’t what I was expecting her to turn out to be. But the two of them together was the best. I just loved Saxon and how he was with Isla.

I'm a sucker for the tough guy who reluctantly falls for a sassy chick. What I don't care for is how sloppy and careless they get. That shit just drives me bonkers.
You seriously go from a stone cold killer to a freaking puppy dog in two pages? No, bro. No. Unbelievable.
I liked the tension, I liked the spice, I liked the adventure. I really just have a problem with the complete shift in personality and attitude.
