Neo Parastye M published by Kodansha is a manga by various mangakas around Japan. It's comprised of short stories all taking place in the Parasyte world, originally created by Hitoshi Iwaaki. This manga had some stories that were a hit and some that were a miss, most of them were a hit.

My favorite stories were "Through Yara's Gate" by Moto Hagio, "Eat It Tonight, Too" by Moare Ohta, "Granny's Regrets" by Takayuki Takeya, "The Strange One" by Takatoshi Kumakura, "The Perfect Soldier" Ryouji Minagawa, "Edible" Hiroki Endo, and "Chinless Gen and I are Parasites" by Akria Hiramoto.

There were a few stories that I didn't like at all, but overall I liked most of the stories in this anthology. The few stories I didn't like focused on sex and I just didn't find them interesting or entertaining in the least bit.

Overall this was an enjoyable read, I'm giving this 4 stars out of 5

An omnibus manga based on Parasyte by 12 different authors. Like other Japanese manga I have read, this book opens the opposite way that we are used to. As with omnibus books, there are stories in it which I like and ones which I didn't. I liked the more realistic ones such as The Stranger and The Perfect Soldier and wished they were long and didn't really enjoy ones like the first one such as Through Yura's Gate, which I thought was too long and didn't pack a good story. Personal preference is that I like the comics which are easy to read and follow (as opposed to highly stylized or fantastically drawn ones). This is definitely a Your Mileage May Vary omnibus.

I got this as a free ARC.

Now…yes. I have read Parasyte, twice in fact. However, I haven’t logged them into my Goodreads account, so that’s why they aren’t on my list (aside from the first full color volume and both Neo Parasyte volumes).

However, as for Neo Parasyte m, while many people aren’t too big on this anthology volume…I enjoyed it quite a bit. Nine out of the twelve stories are really good, with the other three just being ok. Akira Hiramoto’s story in particular made me laugh quite a bit.

If you liked Parasyte, you’d most likely like this anthology. It’s good stuff!

Also, sorry for the short review, but I didn’t want to spoil a lot about Parasyte in this review. So oh well!

01/03/22 Edit: I read Neo Parasyte f the day after finishing this. Since my thoughts are mostly the same with a few more criticism, I won’t be doing a separate review for that. That, and I wanna talk more about Parasyte itself in the future. I hope you understand!

Most of these stories weren't enjoyable to me. Too action focused and less psychological,  and a lot just fell flat.
