Book : Book Lovers
Author : Emily Henry
If you like :
* sister relationship dynamics for book l
* somewhat-of workplace romance
* enemies-to-lovers
This book is for YOU!
Let’s start with the fact that there’s not a single Emily Henry book I haven’t LOVED! The characters and dialogue development is always on point. Nora & her sisters relationship is so relatable and so fun. I love the dynamic between the two of them.
Nora and Charlie’s relationship and the enemies to lovers trope here is oh my gosh so very fun! Nora and Charlie are both relatable to a lot of people and I feel that is also what makes this book so great! Personally for me — I don’t relate to their lives but still felt as though we could be friends!!
I enjoyed every single minute of this book from start to finish. I read this in a 24-hr span and was so sad when it was over.
Stick this on your anytime day or night TBR if these tropes are for you.

This was fine. Nora's *thing* about being a living foil to a romcom heroine is really boring after a while.

This is really a 4.5 but I'm just gonna give it the 5 because it was so cute.
It's rare, to me, to be so captivated by someone so late in a book. Like, even if it's a fantasy series, there's usually someone or something to draw my attention in much earlier. I powered through with this, convinced that I was basically watching a Hallmark movie. Well, I guess it turns out that I was.
I found the author's note explanation to be exactly what I needed to understand why I wasn't so captivated: my brain is simply not used to understanding what happens to "the ex". Where do they go? What do they do next? (Note: as far as I know, Enchanted is the only movie where a 1:1 swap occurs perfectly. I'm sure I'm missing something.)
Laden with romcom references and names inspired by romcoms then bundled up in a melodramatic Hallmark-inspired love story, I was pleasantly surprised. Consider me a fan.

Compared to PWMOV and Happy Place, this one just didn’t do it for me. Cute story but pretty predictable and I found the main character to be a bit annoying.
