This is a classic children's story for a reason. It has everything you could want. Adventure, suspense, danger, and more. It was a delight to read even as an adult.

This must be at least the third time I have read this book. I love it. My partner asked why I choose to read such a sad book, but it's not, it's the film that makes it seem much sadder than it is. It's a book full of live and adventure about rabbits. Amorphized a bit, but not too much.
Many reviews mentioned hidden meanings etc in the book, rather than it being a good story writen for entertainment. Maybe there are maybe there aren't. I am no good at seeing such things, and take stories much more at face value than looking for hidden meanings. I love the story, its well written and full of action, which keeps the pages turning from start to finish. The characters are well written and come across as being real, faults and all.
Without doubt if there is time enough, I'll read it again at some point.

I just couldn’t get into it. Every time I had the opportunity to pick it up and read, I’d find something else to do instead. Which is not like me at all. Not necessarily a bad book, it just wasn’t for me.

I borrowed this book from my school library thinking it would be a rabbit version of warrior cats. (I have never read Warrior Cats, but my brother really wants me to) However, it quickly became one of my favourite books ever.
The way it was written feels realistic and magical at the same time. I loved the bits of rabbit mythology scattered throughout the book, which also ties in beautifully with the ending. The rabbit language, Lapine, was a fun addition and will be stored indefinitely in my vocabulary.I especially loved it when Bigwig told Woundwort to eat shit, which I believe was the longest sentence in Lapine.
It did take me over a month to finish it, but that was mainly because I wanted to devote my full attention to it while reading. I will be on the lookout for a nice hardcover edition for my own bookshelf.

Another of my top 10. Page turner. Adams is both a great writer of prose and weaver of myth.
