Very cute bl manga about a goat boy who wants to be a bookseller even though goats love to eat books and the wolf boy bookstore manager who gives him a chance. Quick cute fast low angst read. I love stories centered around bookstores or libraries, and I alt love anamorphic animals. So this book was a win win for me.
I am shocked at how much I loved this story. It's clever on several levels, the art is cute, the story is warm and the romance is heartfelt. I'm still thinking about it's novelty and uniqueness. I've recommended it like crazy after I finished it.
August 2022. BL manga about a goat boy who loves books but keeps eating them, who works for a bookshop owned by a wolf.
Generically cute, fun concept, a solid sweet and un-toxic BL read. I’m not really into the animal characteristic type settings but I enjoyed it.
Got this free on Hoopla with my Sac library card as an ebook.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
Yagi is a goat who both loves to read and loves to eat the books he reads. He has a dream of working in a bookshop, but after getting turned down by every bookstore in town, he ends up working in Ookami the wolf's bookstore. This manga was so cute in its art style, story, and it's characters! The art style is lovely; I love the soft and fluffy look the mangaka gave to the characters. The characters themselves are also so fun. Yagi, the main character, is such a sweetheart, so you just want to cheer him on in his journey. Even the minor side characters are lovable. I really liked watching the romance unfold, and it was written in a way where you really root for them to get together. The spicy scenes were a little bit of a surprise, but within the context of the story, they fit perfectly. They're very sweet and romantic spicy scenes, which is always a nice thing. My only complaint is that the story is too short! I wanted to see more of the couple after they get together! If this got turned into a series, I would totally read the next volumes.

Wanting to read your crush's favourite books is the ultimate love language. Cute!
Reading this right after finishing Middlemarch sure was a choice on my end
Be still my cold dead heart this book was adorable! I mean the concept alone for this was adorable but the follow through was amazing as well. This was a relatively short manga but still I couldn't put it down it was so cute. I loves all the characters and their misadventures. I definitely think if cute slice of life style romance is your jam than please please check this out. You won't regret it.
This book is just full of fluff and I just adore Yagi the goat. He has loved books from a young age and was determined to work in a bookshop. The one problem is that Goats eat paper so it was hard to find someone to let him work there. Luckily a wolf named Ookami lets him work in the bookshop he work in. Yagi has eaten many books and can actually taste the books. He can taste the emotions and the motivation of the writer.
I adored the relationship between Yagi and Ookami. They were just so sweet together and watching them fall for each other was so cute. The art is beautiful and all the Characters were a joy to read about. I liked the world the Mangaka created and sensei did a marvellous job of creating such a fantastic world. The different animals and zones of the world were well explained so you don't feel lost.
The backstory of the two explains Yagi's love for books and of the kind person who introduced him to them. That really made the story so much sweeter and its like they were destined to meet and be together.
I cant wait to read more from this Mangaka and get lost in all the fluff again. If you enjoy your BL/Yaoi Manga on the sweet, fluffy and PG zone, this is for you.

3.5 stars rounded up
Some of this gave me some Beastars vibes because of the way in which the animals were zoned and interacted with each other. There were definitely elements that I considered to be cute and charming especially the way in which Ookami felt the need to protect Yagi from everything. Technically there is a bit of an age up. I can’t say too much that would spoil the content. I wish that Yagi’s capabilities were explored a little more. Clearly, he’s not just a goat that eats paper. He has some ability to perceive emotions/intentions based on the writer. I feel like we got this cool element but it was in the background of the story the entire time which was slightly disappointing for me as a reader. This is sexually explicit so if that’s not for you, I wouldn’t recommend picking this one up. Overall, it was cute and fast read.
