In the midst of a drug fueled work trip to Las Vegas, Hunter S. Thompson's avatar ruminates on the death of the 60s counter culture movement, the woefully misinformed War on Drugs, the Vietnam War, and the search for the elusive American dream. This certainly isn't a book for everyone mainly because some of the antics Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo get up to can make them fairly unlikable at times.

My copy is misprinted so I think I might have missed a chapter but this book was so thrilling and fun.

Sporadic and chaotic. Dark and incredibly spontaneous. Some things in this book (I read it before watching) I just couldn't comprehend initially and had to re-read. Certain parts of it fall apart into a complex moral montage of prior situations or divergent tangents that kind of takes you out of the moment. Overall a fantastic story (as far as events that happen, not the content of their actions) and something that will most likely never be duplicated, and it has an unreal level of authenticity to it with its cult following and love for Hunter S. Thompson. Can't wait to watch the movie and see what gets left out.

It's fucking crazy
I've always heard this was a great book so I finally decided to sit down and read it. It was a bit hard to follow..probably because the characters were high 24/7. It had some really funny and memorable parts to it. One of my favorite parts (without giving to much away) being the hotel cleaning woman coming in on the Attorney. What a wacky guy he was! Now I plan on watching the movie.
