Not for newbies; go read Finder volume 1 and if you're into it, keep going. But for Finder fans, a fascinating look at our girl Rachel, "all grown up"? The color in this, with the party dresses and Llaverac shades of autumn and ginger, was delightful. As with many Finder stories, I had a lot of questions, but am still chewing over and enjoying the explanatory endnotes. The character of Jaeger felt strangely muted to me, but in all, a helluva sexy romp, plus a good prompt to go back to the beginning of one of my favorite comic series ever.

I’ve missed Finder so much. I do hope this gets physically published as well.

mostly was just confused by this book, almost dnf’d, then powered through. but also, I haven’t read any of the previous books, so that might have helped.

Fantastic new entry into the Finder saga, but what's with ending on a stinking cliffhanger? I pray CSM has a plan to get more story out to us devoted readers.

A tantalizing continuation of Rachel's story arc.

This volume picks up Rachel's story after the events of [b:Voice|9298590|Finder, Vol. 09 Voice|Carla Speed McNeil|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1403201073l/9298590._SX50_.jpg|14181222]. (I had been disappointed that that story was left hanging during [b:Third World|21532221|Finder Third World|Carla Speed McNeil|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1400875860l/21532221._SX50_.jpg|40860577].) So Rachel has won the debutante ball (or whatever they call it) and is now royalty. She lives in a huge manor house but has no money, so she lives off of gifts from her sponsors who want the publicity from her search for a rich spouse from her clan. She does get engaged in this volume, and she has a spirit wedding with an Ascian deity. Then Jager shows up with an offer....

I know that description won't make sense to anyone not familiar with this world, and for those who are familiar I'm avoiding spoilers so you can enjoy it yourself. If you've liked Finder before, you'll still like it now.

I was reading a PDF pre-release copy slowly for 6 months. Partly to stretch it out and savor it. Partly because I don't like reading PDFs. I'll certainly buy the finished physical copy when it comes out this summer, for the footnotes if nothing else. There are some bits I need explained!
