Not my favorite of the three trades thus far, but dang it I love Sex Criminals so much.

Good stuff. Got weird a meta and very little actually happened plotwise. but still creative as all heck.

Read 2 & 3 in a batch, so one review.

The ideas continue to be interesting, with new characters and twists on the "time-freeezing" powers. I find that the bits narrated by Jon grate. I much prefer the Suzie bits.
I keep feeling bad about wanting to continue, but I keep wanting to continue…

I really enjoy how epically crazy this story is. I also really like how much sex-positive PSAs and the like are slipped in.

a lot less happened in this one but some parts were cute. at least there was a tentacle monster!

Yay exposition! Yay meta humor!

I did enjoy this so I'm not being harsh or critical, but definitely an overall slow and weak plot line. But I did like Alix's story and being asexual, along with Rach and Dr. Rainbow's relationship issues with their past.

But some stuff was weird. Surprised? No. But still weird.

Gets a little meandering, but the art remains stellar and the writing truly wears its heart on its sleeve. Definitely curious to see where it goes from here.

I didn't like Volume 2, but I picked up 3 in hopes it would be better. And in some ways, it was. The artwork is still great. But the meta angle wasn't clever or useful, it felt lazy and detracted from the improvements that were made effectively blocking it from making story progress. Ugh. I want so much more from this series.

This may be the best of Sex Criminals. Fraction and Zdarsky have always been good about being educational and nonjudgmental in this series, but this one wins extra prizes for approaching asexuality as it should be — completely normal, not weird. (Volume 2 was excellent for some sweet gynecological information.) The plot kind of meanders through this volume, but it’s still a fun ride.

My least favorite volume so far (it got a little confusing), but still highly enjoyable!
