This was an interesting novel. The monsters in this book (Angels) are actually energy stealing vampires. They don't drink blood, they instead siphon the energy off their victims. They can also absorb the energy directly from the sun but they always hunger.

Maya was a strong character, who tries to overcome the hunger that consumes her. I liked Maya.

Gabe and Tarren are Maya's brothers and excellent characters. I liked how different they were. Gabe was a fun-loving, easy going character and his brother was much more down to earth. Always watching and waiting.

I did have a few issues, I didn't like that the super humans who were genetically made were called angels. They were by far nothing like any other angel I've ever seen, nor are they angelic, they are murderers. The other thing is sometimes the Author lost me with her writing style. Mostly dealing with Maya and her self analysis. The only other thing that I found REALLY hard to deal with is how the characters act. They were supposed to be college aged, yet they acted more whiny, and more immature than my 10 year old son.

If you want to read an interesting new paranormal give this one a try. While not perfect it was well done and enjoyable. And it was definitely a wonderful debut for this Author who I'm sure will improve as her story continues.

Free copy was provided for my honest review by the author. This free book had no influence on my final review.

Maya has a strong voice but Tarren and Gabe read like off brand Winchester brothers. There is no real resolution to the story, it just gets to a certain point and surprise, buy the sequel please.

This is the second book in the "Girl with Broken Wings Series". It is a very quick and short read. I finished in less than an hour.

The character development is much greater defined. You get to be inside her head a bit more and can understand her a bit more.

All in all, a great short story, with some unique aspects. Again it is very short for a second installment in the story and it really doesn't help answer any questions you may have or give you a clear idea of where the story is going. Also beware the language in Coping is quite a bit more risque than in Falling with a pronounced use of the F bomb.

I would consider this a great stepping stone to book 3. But I was a little let down by it not being longer. I give it a 3.5, mostly due to its length and not answering questions I had at the end of Falling.
