Holiday romance meets Groundhog Day.

I think this book had a lot of potential and could have been made even better. I expected the time loops to be a bigger part of this story than it was. They stop happening about a third into the book and I think that was a huge inopportunity. The potential for more drama, tension and love triangle rivalry was there but instead it was simply lacking. The story could have easily happened without the jumps to the past.

I enjoyed the Christmas setting and the chosen family dynamics. It was a cute book and an easy read but I wanted and expected more from Christina Lauren.

This frustrated me so much at the beginning and I would have much preferred if the authors just wrote a romance without any Groundhog Day stuff. That being said, if you overlook that, it's a really lovely Christmassy romance which was exactly what I was wanting!

This book was not as memorable or tantalizing as I thought it was going to be, but it also wasn't a bad read. I was expecting balls to the wall romance, not the MC getting transported back in time like eleventy billion times (almost expected Heat of the Moment to be playing each time).

The romance was sweet once it got going but also whats his face is an airhead at one point and I felt incredibly annoyed at his response to the MC confiding in him. Also posed as a love triangle and it's very much not that. Not the best CL book but I don't hate myself for reading it

I loved the realistic response to being in a time loop- the doubt and weird things you forget.  I just wish I found the characters more interesting to spend the time with over and over again.
My favorite character was Benny but he was also so "magical fairy godmother" or "gay best uncle" that it was a little frustrating.  Mae had so much more chemistry with Benny than she ever did with Andrew that I was hoping the time loop would have her fall in love with Benny.  She kissed him so much and didn't think anything of going up to his room, in her PJs, braless, and hanging out with him alone and constantly hugging him and touching him.   When things went sideways with Andrew, I was totally expecting this to be the twist, that she realizes that it was Benny she should be with all along.  Benny who supported her, accepted her as she was, and who was very very single, and apparently because he dated Lisa, at least bisexual if not actually straight.  But alas, no.  Oh well.

It took me a while to get into this but that may because of my schedule. I really loved it overall. I needed a sweet romance to end the year.

Enjoyable until the unnecessary conflict at the end.

Also I cannot stress enough how horrible this book cover is, it hurts my eyes. Literally, not figuratively. I designed an entirely new cover for my own copy just so I wouldn’t have to look at this cover on my ebook shelf. It’s really bad lol.
