Fun, quick read
If you've read the first Dragonmaster book, you will already have an idea about what is happening here. It's interesting to see what actually happened from a first person view. If you haven't already read it, this is a prequel that can be read in its own.
Good writing. Interesting story. It took just over an hour to read. I recommend it.

Katie Cross does it again! This collection is a great supplement to hold us over while we wait for the next book. If you are not familiar with the series, this is a great place to start. It wont spoil the books for you and it drops you right in the middle of Letum Wood and you will NEVER want to leave. We get to learn so much about the Dragonmasters - some great - others a total train wreck. This book has everything - history, excitement, tragedy, perseverance, magic, and of course DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!!

Super fun and such a great read for anyone who loves the Network series, the Sisterwitch series, or just plain ol' awesome dragons.

She weaves worlds with words and every single time she does not fail to ensnare my heartstrings. Yes, I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. However, had I not been privileged enough for that, I would have purchased it anyway.
This book, a short novella type, is effectively a prequel for her most recent Dragonmasters series book, [b:Flame|38939412|Flame (The Dragonmaster Trilogy, #1)|Katie Cross|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1520650717s/38939412.jpg|60517666]. I love living in her Letum Wood with dragons and magic and a wonderfully crafted cast of characters. Without spoiling anything, I will tell you that if you enjoy her other books, [b:Miss Mabel's School for Girls|25321022|Miss Mabel's School for Girls (The Network Series, #1)|Katie Cross|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1428501279s/25321022.jpg|40376036] especially, the Dragonmasters series is a must. Go forth and revel in the magic at your fingertips. I promise you'll be glad you did.
