One of my favourites of this series, a pair of investigations centred on the same area, an aged headless corpse and a more recent victim. Are they connected? How and why?

Thoroughly enjoyed this and I wish these were adapted to TV like other weties. They would be great viewing.

First book of the year complete!

This book was just so bland. The ending was so obvious. The best part has to be all the Ukrainian references

I enjoyed this mystery. The main character is witty and the story kept me interested.

This was enjoyable, but as the series goes, not one of my favorites. I think the thing that bugged me most was the fact that the woman he is dating had a major traumatic event in her life and in this book she is unrealistically normal.

This Peter Diamond mystery did not hold my interest. There seemed to be too much going on and the book was slow-paced. It involved golf, horse racing, Civil War enactment on Landsdown Hill, Ukrainian prostitutes--none of this I found very interesting. I do enjoy the references to the area around Bath, but other than that I did not enjoy this book.

The main cop is a bit bumbling but he gets the job done. The story has two deaths, one is found in an area where a war reenactment had taken place and the other is of a man who at first is thought to be homeless. The man is then identified as a professor who had taken part in the reenactment. It takes a while to identify the first body, that of a woman from a foreign country and to tie the two cases together.
One of the police officers gets shot, one joins the reenactors, and there is a connection with the local preservation society and horse racing.
