In the 1970s, Alice Armstrong transitions from life in New York to the country life in Australia. Teddy, her husband, rents a mini manor for a year and it's up to Alice to acclimate her family to their new home. As she adjusts to her new life , she learns who she wants to be and who she isn't. A quick read.

Thanks to the publisher and Goodreads for sending me this book.

A very interesting modern exploration of class and hierarchy with memorable characters.

I quite enjoyed this little slice of life novella. If you are looking for something short and literary fiction genre wise (that is, strongly about characters and a moment in time), I recommend it. At ~120 short pages, it’s a quick read and re-boosted my slumpy reading energy.
