Typical, silly, roamnce novel. The thing that struck me as being cool about it was the author is local to me.

I think this book is quite interesting, but because I read the second book instead of the first so I don't really know the nature of the characters. But it's fine to read as a stand alone, it's not really too disturbing.
I think Tricia has some similarities to me, namely being afraid of being forgotten or abandoned and wanting to have distance. Meanwhile, Connor, the responsible and reliable guy, the green flag guy.
Grateful that the hot scenes started appearing in the last chapters of the book and only a few pages in, because I was a little uncomfortable reading intimate relationships.
Idk what it feels like for a dog parents or other pet parents but I guessed it would be the same as cat parents like me, it really meaningful to have pets around us, to support us mentally and emotionally.
Also now I'm curious of the Chilli recipe!!!

Linda Lael Miller's latest book in her McKettrick/Creed series "Creed's Honor" will be available on May 31, 2011. I was able to get a galley of this book to read before the official publication date. "Creed's Honor" is the second of Miller's new Montana Creed Trilogy that started with "A Creed in Stone Creek". I enjoyed "A Creed in Stone Creek" it had humor and characters I enjoyed reading about. I felt that "Creed's Honor" was just a filler between the first and last book in this latest trilogy. I didn't really care about the characters and saw no chemistry between Connor Creed and Tricia McCall. Miller introduces a young girl who, I think, was supposed to act as a catalyst in bringing these two characters together but she, along with a stray dog, really only served to fill up pages. In short I would say that there was little to no character development and I found myself wanting to know more about Connor's twin brother and what brought him back to Lonesome Bend. That will be the final book rounding out this trilogy. On a personal note, as a Colorado native it truly bothers me that authors persist in naming small Colorado towns with cliche names like Lonesome Bend. Have they ever visited the states they write about?
The audio of this was good, I just couldn't find the time to sit and read it so I was glad it was available in cd. I am hoping brody's book is also available on cd as well because I would like to finish this series. Good cowboy romance, I like the characters.
Creed's Honor is the first book I've read by Linda Lael Miller. Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. The author did a great job of providing background information on other characters without bogging down the plot.
I love romance and when I read the synopsis for Creed's Honor, I was anxious to read this book even though I hadn't read anything by LLM. I really wanted to like this book but it did not work for me. The major problem I had with the story was how slow the romance build-up was for Connor and Tricia. They lived in the same small town but didn't speak to each other until almost 100 pages in. I'm thinking, if it took this long for these two to have a conversation, how long will it take for the romance to develop? Connor and Tricia are barely in each other's presence and when they are around each other, the conversation is stilted. There was no flirting or flirtatious banter; flirting was hinted at by describing Connor's "smirk" or a twinkle in his eye. I never felt the romance truly develop because the story and dialog centered more around Tricia and Connor when they were apart than when they were together.
When the romance finally got going, it went from 0-60 in a span of couple of pages. I was a little shocked. Connor and Tricia went from barely having a conversation to declarations of love. For me, there was no build up because I could not understand what they saw in each other. Where was the attraction and the chemistry? There was very little of it. Maybe there were interactions between Connor and Tricia in previous books that explains the quick tumble into Loveville.
The one bright spot in this story is Connor's twin brother, Brody. He's back in town and is finally ready to set down roots. Something happened while he was away from Lonesome Bend and we learn a little about his story. I think Brody has more personality and spark than Connor which made any scene with Brody an enjoyable one.
Creed's Honor was an okay read for me. Nothing about it wowed me. I felt that Connor and Tricia were boring characters who, when they came together, continued to be boring. In my opinion, Connor and Tricia weren't around each other enough to warrant a romantic relationship. I also felt that the build up to the relationship took too long and then everything after felt rushed.
I'm looking forward to reading Brody's book, The Creed Legacy. I hope the romance in this one has the fire that was seriously lacking in Creed's Honor.

Having read other books in the Montana Creeds series, I had pretty high expectations but this one just didn't live up to them. It had a lot of build up but then the relationship story between Tricia and Connor seemed forced. I actually preferred the side stories about Tricia's Great Grandmother and tension between Connor and his twin brother.
Creed's Honor by Linda Lael Miller
Tricia had to go to Colorado to deal with her fathers land and camp grounds.
While there she had several offers on the old outdoor movie theater and
land. The offers came from each of the twin boys.
Her great grandmother has an offer of a place to stay with a friend who is nearer
to her age with same interests.
When she returned to Seattle she went to see the guy she had had a few dates
with and he was with a female already. She was there to turn down his offer
to go on a cruise and open a gallery together.
She was now free to pursue her interest with one of the twins she had a
crush on in Colorado.
Connor helped the neighbors who needed his help, wrapping water pipes, fixing
things in their houses, helping bring boxes of goods to sell at the local
chili dinner/yard sale for the new uniforms for the band.
Brody was the wild twin and didn't stay in one place for very long.
Tricia stays at Connor's family house and Brody finds out exploding it all out
of proportion.
