First Thought when Finished: Ready to Die was the most twisty turny story in the series so far! Plus that very last scene--OMG!

Overall Thoughts: Ready to Die was probably my favorite in the To Die series to date. There was action, twists, turns, and a few shockers. The story was the strongest when it was focused on the case. It wasn't so much a "who dun it" but more of a "how we gonna catch him" that had me on the edge of my seat. The only time the story was a little off was when it was focused on the various romances. I don't know why but I just can't connect with the romances in this series. However, since they are background and not pivotal (IMHO) they don't distract from the overall plot line. That being said, I love the characters in the To Die series. There are 2 really strong female leads (Pescoli and Alvarez) that just quite simply rock. Fans of the Eve Duncan or Rizzoli and Isles series would love these two!

Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Natalie Ross / Length: 13 hrs and 51 mins

Natalie does a fantastic job with the To Die series. I think she nails Pescoli and Alvarez. She does a decent job with the male voices and her pacing is pretty darn good. I enjoy listening to these on audio.

Final Thoughts: I am counting down to the next release!Especially after that last moment.

My official rating: 6 out of 10 killers

The 5th book following Alverez and Pescolli and things are getting real! No one is safe and everything is personal.

This was the first book that really took me for a loop. I had my suspicions of who the killer was and I was way off. My big complaint is that it seems like some of these killers have similar habits and traits that I don't think (though I don't know. I certainly don't live anywhere near said killings are happening) are common. Maybe I'm wrong. It just threw me off a little.

But, I'm here and I'm committed to finishing the series. She hasn't lost me yet! Bring on the next addition to the series!

I was very glad Brewster got what was coming to him and that Jeremy seems to be figuring out what he’s going to do with his life. My favorite one yet.

Although I have read lots of books from this genre over the years, this is only my second by Lisa Jackson. I wasn’t quite so keen on this one, I’m not sure if it is because I’ve not read the rest of the series, or something else. It felt like the crime was overshadowed by the family drama of the Graysons, which only came about as one of them was the target of the shooter, but to me it felt like they provided too much history of the situation, which wasn’t really relevant to investigating the crime. I don’t however get the who done it until quite late on but this may because of my previous comments.

I got bored with the personal drama which seemed like a soap opera with weak dialogue. And it became pretty obvious who the bad guy was early on. The loose ends were interesting. It won't matter if those plot lines get picked up by the next in the series since I probably won't read it. I can make up my own endings.

Sheriff Dan Grayson is shot outside his home on Christmas Day, right in front of Detective Pescoli. As he clings to live, the body of a judge is found in the snowy hills, her skis still strapped to her feet, shot once through the head. And Detective's Pescoli and Alvarez are sure this isn't the end of the killings unless they can learn who the assassin is and stop them.

Another great read in the To Die series by Lisa Jackson!
