Probably a 1.5 but I'll be nice. I liked the concept of the story, but it just goes nowhere except boring fast. Set sometime in the 20s or 30s in rural America, a young boy wants to see the world. His father tells him he will buy him a ticket to see family in Colorado if he can find seven wonders in his hometown. Promising premise, but all of the wonders are just weird, not very wonderful, and just plain boring. The characters are blah and unoriginal and there is absolutely nothing driving the plot.

This book enchanted me from beginning to end. It was a refreshingly wholesome tale about appreciating the world around you and never taking for granted the people in your life. Sweet, simple yet powerful. I would definitely read this again!

This title isn't something I'd pick up on my own, but the audiobook was returned by a patron and a colleague recommended I give it a shot. It made for good commuting entertainment, the stories about each "wonder" gave great insight into not only the townspeople but of the time that this book is set.

This was a sweet book that I will probably read to my little one somewhere down the line. I am not sure where I had heard about it - but I know it was on my check it out list for a while. There was a strong religious theme that ran through the book I was not expecting. Not that it was bad - just not expected - I think this is what makes me wonder where I had heard about the book.

Cute tale about discovering the wonders that surround you and being grateful for where you have been planted.

A very cute story that reminds adults and teaches children that you don't have to travel the world to appreciate what's right in front of you. :) Loved it!
