The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs by Betty G. Birney

2.0

Probably a 1.5 but I'll be nice. I liked the concept of the story, but it just goes nowhere except boring fast. Set sometime in the 20s or 30s in rural America, a young boy wants to see the world. His father tells him he will buy him a ticket to see family in Colorado if he can find seven wonders in his hometown. Promising premise, but all of the wonders are just weird, not very wonderful, and just plain boring. The characters are blah and unoriginal and there is absolutely nothing driving the plot.
