Corrick was so annoying in this one. I really hope this is second book syndrome because I really liked the first one.

At first I was worried that this book may fall under the second book curse, but the action really picked up in the second half of this story! There were so many plot twists that I didn’t see coming, and a couple I had my suspicions on

DNF for now at 50%. I feel like I should come back and give it a try again later. I have just come off the heels of The Fourth Wing and this sloooowwww burn had me skimming. I found myself skipping through chapters just to see something happen. If you are a fan of character-focused very very slow burn, this book may be for you. I loved the first book in the series and know this book has amazing reviews so I haven't given up hope completely. I may come back to it later when I'm in the mood for something a little more slow paced.
