A story about super heroes and villains, that reminds me to X-Men. I'd say the focus of this book was mostly in the villain, who is not a blood thirsty person, but a girl that wants to change the status quo.
To be honest, it bothered me a bit that the two protagonist are teenagers, because I'm a bit tired of stories where some kids "save the world" 😆 And at first I was finding all the descriptions of fighting boring, but with time the story and characters grew on me.
I'm going to listen or read the sequel.

I was excited to learn of Meyer's new series as I was a big fan of the Lunar Chronicles and Wires and Nerves. To say this was a disappointment doesn't even sum it up.
I started off with the audiobook. The narrator for Adrian was good but the narrator for Nova had me rotating between cringing and rolling my eyes. I switched from the audiobook to the physical book to see if it made a difference and it did, somewhat. It was much easier to follow and gave me a chance to enjoy Nova's character slightly but honestly, she was petulant, the story lacked substance and was a fairly annoying read. I wanted to stop but when you've committed 11 hours of listening time, well you just need to finish what you started.
Would not recommend.
