loved the plus size representation in this one, also thought marcus was the cutest little guy on the planet. not much i don’t like about this book except i thought that it took way too long for them to get back together after the climax. i did like how we knew he was the fanfic guy, so that she didn’t try and do some cringe surprise which would’ve been very obvious.

This was fun, I liked the fan fiction sub-culture. I definitely had to suspend my disbelief quite a bit, but it was still enjoyable. Lots of trauma on both sides of the relationship. Trigger warning for fat-shaming.

This was so frothy and delightful! It feels like it shouldn't have worked and I think, if I tried to describe the book, it would sound so corny and cringy, but somehow Dade really makes you buy into this premise of a fan and a star falling in love. Can't wait for the next book!

I am bored. Next to nothing has happened. It's not endearing. Why are they sucking face (and neck!) in public?

There have been no meaningful or character defining conversations internal or external to discuss how she might feel about this level of privacy invasion (i.e. bystanders and paparazzi snapping pics, stalking, and asking personal questions). There might be one now, but I'm not sticking around for the delayed character build.

I didn't even get the sense she truly likes him. He's obsessed with her because of their fanfiction conversations, but she has no idea he's the same guy. Other than thoughts of, "he's hot," I don't get any chemistry.

The fanfiction snippets at the beginning of chapters are hamfisted and tired. I could not possibly care less.

There are several word choices that make me say, "What? Ew. Why? Please stop. Nope." It's not an infrequent occurrence.  The repetitive description is also nauseating. Say it once, I FUCKING get it!

Example:
"She followed his account. Then, she slid into his DMs," and,
"Feel free to slide into my DMs." Twice! "Slide into [his/my] DMs is used twice in a short timeframe, unironically. I hate it with a serious passion.

Cute romance. HEA.

I am imagining Kitt Harrington and a FF writer in this novel.

I really don't like pointless deception tropes in romantic stories. There is deception here that will cause real harm to the main character, that could easily be a conversation.
