I have to Stan. Anyway.

A great re-imagining of the Spider-Man mythos that is as much of today as Ultimate Spider-Man was in 2000. There's clearly some backstory in the "Edge of the Spider-Verse" story that is not collected here but I was able to understand everything without having read that. Except for one issue with an ABRUPT change in style (fill-in artist), the art is gorgeous and flows very well.

Spider-Gwen is a heartfelt story about a young woman trying to make up for her mistakes without realizing who she truly is. I loved this so much. Great characters, great puns, and a deep emotional story.

The ONLY thing I didn’t like was the artist switch in the last two issues. I loved the art until then. Not that the new artist is bad. It’s just a style I don’t vibe with.

I can’t wait to get to know Spider-Gwen more!

I enjoyed it, I did feel like it was lacking in some parts. I thought it would be geared to a more adult audience , I was wrong. The artwork was kind of a miss for me. It wasn’t terrible by any means it was just meh. The Matt Murdock bits were my favorite, I love Daredevil and seeing the spin on the character was phenomenal. If you are a Gwen Stacy fan I do recommend this one.

I like Spider-Gwen herself, but just got a bit overwhelmed by the 'alternate universe' aspects of this. Punisher is a cop! Captain America is a woman! Peter Parker is Uncle Ben AND the Lizard! ugh. Too many knowing winks at the audience for me.
