I know this book has its controversies, but I enjoyed it for what it is. Haunted house books are my favorite type of horror and so I had a good time with this. It gave me the creeps and unsettled me a bit. I definitely can see what everyone’s talking about that some stuff was just too over the top. However, for a spooky, Halloween read, I got what I wanted.

It's pretty cheesy but most people probably know that going in. I suspect - or more really, know - it's relationship to "truth" is tenuous but it's a lot of fun and really good at what it is trying to be.
