Although not my favorite McCammon, it was still a good read.

The creepiness of the nightmares and the shadows at night was very well done and left me with goosebumps each time it happened. The Amazonian women storyline got a little carried away for me in the end, but I thought it started out as a really cool concept.

This was another enjoyable read from Robert McCammon.
A small, beautiful town with an unusual name seemed to be a perfect place for a family to start anew. But, of course, it wasn't.

This book combined ancient mythology with present day horror.(Well, present day for 1980 or so, because that's when this book was originally written.)Oh, and did I mention the Amazon women?

I would recommend Bethany's Sin to any Robert McCammon fan. I also would recommend this one for any lover of horror set in a small town. This is one of those classic horror stories that grudgingly gives out clues to the secret the town holds close.

What is the town of Bethany's Sin hiding? Read it to find out.

McCammon is pretty much a must for October. This is his second book and whereas it isn't as provocative and engaging as something like "Swan Song" or "Wolf's Hour" The writing level is very high. McCammon blows away most of the horror authors who just look for shock, where he looks to get under your skin with fully rounded characters and strange situations. I wish there were more like him out there and I'm very glad he got back from his publishing hiatus and is back on the scene because it will give fodder for many Octobers to come. As for this one, not very scary, but fun and extremely vivid.
