Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee
Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.

Not feeling sparkles between the MCs, plus I don't think it's realistic to open up about personal losses and trauma after meeting for 10 minutes twice 😅 but maybe that's just me

The Dance Tree by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.

it's trying so hard to be Hamnet... too hard 😭

will try to read more from the author because her premises always sound intriguing but this was such a let down unfortunately 

Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes
Did not finish book. Stopped at 51%.

This was just so boring... Natalie Haynes' only book worth reading is The Children of Jocasta and I stand by that. 

The Glass Town Game by Catherynne M. Valente
Did not finish book. Stopped at 4%.

This author has some of the most clever and fantastical plots, I will definitely give them another chance but this book is not what I'm in the mood for right now (also, 13 hours seem veeeery long, perhaps a bit too long? idk) 

Masters of Death by Olivie Blake
Did not finish book. Stopped at 14%.

Not the vibe I was expecting, which is my fault for not reading the synopsis and only going by the title. On top of that, I associate the audiobook narrator too strongly with Callum from The Atlas Six series (who the narrator also voices), so maybe reading this as an ebook or in physical format could've worked better, but probably not. The humorous aspect just didn't work for me tbh. 

The Backstagers and the Ghost Light by Andy Mientus, Rian Sygh
Did not finish book. Stopped at 32%.

I'm just not in the mood for a middle grade book and I hadn't connected with any of the characters yet. I do intent to read more from the author though. 

The Narratology of Comic Art by Kai Mikkonen
Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.

not as useful to my research as I thought, but definitely very well researched and great food for thought otherwise

A Conspiracy of Truths by Alexandra Rowland
Did not finish book. Stopped at 2%.

I realise I barely gave this a chance but it wasn't like I thought it would be from the title, description and cover so I knew straight away it wasn't for me. It may still be a good book, just not what I hoped for

The Family Chao by Lan Samantha Chang
Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.

This book is not what I expected going into it. It was marketed wrong imo. 

In Every Mirror She's Black by Lọlá Ákínmádé Åkerström
Did not finish book. Stopped at 14%.

Should've known this book wasn't for me since its pitched at Queenie meets Americanah and I DNF'd Queenie after the first two sentences (no kidding 🤣) and have no interest whatsoever in Americanah...
