There were things I liked about this, and it ultimately had most of the actual information I wanted to learn in it, but it was so aggressively allosexual most of the time that it was a huge turn off. Also coming at it as someone with no particular negative baggage about menopause and who as someone really looking forward to postmenopausal, the general pervasive "I know you've heard horror stories but actually your life won't end" attitude was surreal. Sometimes I felt like I was reading a book from some weird alternate universe. None of the people in my life treat or have treated menopause the way that this book clearly assumes is 100% the US cultural norm. Made for a very odd and at times completely unrelatable and even irrelevant read. But the scientific information was solid and the prose was amusing.
There are some plot threads I wish has gotten more resolved, and I think this probably would have worked better as 4 vols than 3, but overall I really enjoyed this trilogy.
Overall I enjoyed this series, tho the ending felt a little rushed. The editing could use improvement, it was absolutely tragic at times.
