After the Shut Up Ring by Cate C. Wells

Cate C Wells is almost always a winner for me, her books are some of my favorites, and I was so excited for this one. But, it just didn’t do it for me. I liked aspects of it, but it was too short and just felt like a watered-down version of some of her other books with a wronged heroine. I love this trope, but this book in particular didn’t do it for me.

This was okay, but I really didn’t love that it was set in a high school. Setting it in a college would’ve made it better and less uncomfy for me. Other than that, I love Weir’s writing!

This was SO dry. It was high on the Amazon charts for KU so I gave it a shot but, oh my gosh, was it boring. I didn’t like any of the characters and they all blended together. The story itself is promising but in execution, it was just mind numbing.

I would have DNFed this but I really wanted to like it! Overall just felt confusing and lackluster, kinda like book 1.

I wouldn’t say that this is romantic, but it’s different than most of the dark romances I’ve read before, and I loved that the traditional stalker roles were gender-swapped. Overall, an entertaining read.

This was weirdly confusing for me, and I typically don’t have any problems following MC romances. I also really wasn’t attached to the main couple. I want to like this series, but I’m hoping the following books are better.
