3.5 stars. I really liked this book, but I found the the first 1/4 very boring. Or was about securing funding, how Shackleton chose the crew, etc.
Once they got to Antarctica, things really picked up. Mawson is my favorite Antarctic explorer, so I want sure how much I'd like a book about Shackleton, but it was amazing learning about everything they weren't through. The human will to survive is amazing.
The physical suffering they went through is almost incomprehensible. This was a very good book. 4.5 stars if not for the first part

A 5 star taking from me means it has changed my life/outlook and that I think everybody could find value in this book.
This is the best Ramsey book I've read work many ideas for how to raise good kids - the principles taught apply to much more than money. I don't agree with everything the Ramseys say, but I can't argue that all the advice is sound. I'd recommend this book to everybody!
