Dune by Frank Herbert

Definitely see how it became a classic of the genre. The ideas and themes are intriguing and the universe of the book felt consistent and well thought out. For anyone trying to get into the story, don’t worry about spoilers or even seeing the movies first! There’s a lot of the story that makes more sense if you see/know about it before you get to it in the book.

A truly unique book! The different stories come together nicely by the end but the author did a great job of letting each story and piece stand out by itself. I think you could reread this book several times over and come away with new things to appreciate each time.

I could read this collection over and over again endlessly. If you’re not sure about it though, skip ahead to the piece about Robbin Williams.

An interesting story and well researched. The different threads and narratives that make up the book keep it interesting. The book’s large cast of characters and non-linear format make it tough to follow at times and some characters don’t end up feeling very memorable or distinct but that doesn’t detract from the novel overall

A fun, off-beat, and at times tragically funny story about characters you can cheer for no matter how many times they seem to screw up.

An entertaining slice of three lives and the ways they occasionally intersect. A truly fun read even if it leaves you with some unanswered questions
