I absolutely loved this book. It was super engaging from start to finish.  Cassie, a female firefighter, goes through such relatable issues. She finds herself having to relocate from her Texan hometown to Massachusetts to help her estranged mother with some health issues.  It wasn't an esay decision to leave her beloved texan firehouse but she felt it her only choice. The firehouse in Massachusetts isn't as welcoming to women in this predominantly male job. As cassie trys to prove herself to the squad time and time again she finds herself being able to trust owen. Trust doesn't come easy for cassie for any kind of relationship because of events that unfolded on her 16th birthday. Suddenly things start to get complicated in Massachusetts, bad things always occur in 3's right. Health, her job, a big fire. Dramatic, heartbreaking, edge of your seat amasment.
This was the first book ive read by Center. It was beautifully written with an easy  flow, i devoured the book in a couple day's because i just couldn't get enough, definitely an unputdownable read. The way center develops the characters and their relationships was outstanding. I was able to feel what cassie was going through.  A very well written book full of romance, tough decisions, friendship, family, death, love and even a little suspense definitely a 5 star read

Keep her close by MJ Ford publication date of march 7th 2019. I give this book 3.5🌟 rounding up to a 4🌟 review.

This is the second book I've read by Ford, the first being Hold My hand,  which i highly recommend. After loving Hold My Hand I had high hopes and greatly anticipated reading Keep Her Close.

Wow Ford does it again with an amazing mystery/thriller. It starts six months after detective Jo Masters saves her nephew from a killer, which leads to paranoia and her lack of trust.  One girl missing one found dead, suddenly leading to two other girls missing and another dead. 5 girls in total, what is going on.  Masters' boss tries to take her off the case, which she ignores because of her determination to find the connection between the girls.
Are the deaths and dissappearances connected?  Are the other three girls alive? Are they somehow connected to detective Masters making this personal.
Masters keeps searching for answers finding a connection but not the whole picture, hoping her boss believes her  theory and rushing to find if what she suspects is true.
With a explosive ending i didn't see coming the twists and turns of this mystery definitely led to a thriller aspect of an ending. Hopefully this is not the last we see of detective Masters. I don't think her story is over yet and hopefully Ford agrees.

This was the first of Boyd's work that i have read, its classified as a mystery/thriller. It didn't really hit my thriller loving self until pretty much the end, but i would give it 3.5🌟

"She was my unsuitable friend. My Achilles heel. She was the drink you reach for when you know you've already had to much." -Her Closest Friend by Clare Boyd

This was a story about friendship, how far you would go and what lines you would cross.

Sophie and Naomi best friends since that one tragic night in university that would bond them together for the past 20 years. This is basically the only thing that holds their toxic relationship together. Although the book is based off of the mystery between Naomi and Sophie that no one knows about,  not even their families, there are also several side plots. Sophie is going through a separation feeling alone trying everything even some  blackmail to keep Naomi as her Closet friend. Naomi trying to forget her past and trying to acquire new friends and break away from the suffocating friendship she has with sophie. Secrets haunting them both, neither knowing how to deal or cope. Will their friendship prevail?

I throughly enjoyed this book the secrets that were haunting the main characters and the many side stories. Boyd did an excellent job at making the characters relatable and giving details into their inner turmoils, friendship, betrayl, cheating, love, addiction, heatbreak, family, death, tragedy, its all here and it all tied in together. Boyd surprised me with that bang of an ending i didn't see coming and can't wait to read another of Boyd's work.

Denzil starts only daughter off with a bang. Grace is found at the bottom of the quarry at the suicide spot and the police automatically write it off. From that moment, Only Daughter, had me hooked. Kat, came from a troubled past and was raised by a toxic mother,  she was diagnosed as a sociopath, unable to show love. Her daughter now found dead sends Kat's world crashing down. Kat makes it her mission to uncover what really happened that night at the quarry by digging into her daughter's life, discovering things that have her question her mothering skills. This gripping page turner had me needing answers just like kat did.  The twists and turns of this psychological thriller had me on the edge of my seat. Much like the start it ended with a bang having me questioning everyone and everything with an ending i didn't see coming.  This was a book full of suspense, and definately took me on a wild ride very addictive and faced paced read that i found i got sucked right into. Definately deserves  4🌟 I would like to thank @bookouture and @netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
