There is A LOT going on in this book and I just have to say Memnon-you are a cad and I have never trusted you!
Memnon bonds with Selene to make her control his will and if she ever falls in love with him, it falls away. Big mistake...
There is a lot of groveling from Memnon, a LOT more spice in this because apparently that's his mode of deflection and I wish she saw through him.
I did enjoy getting to see the truth of Memnon's and Roxilana's past but I am still confused as to HOW exactly Selene is supposed to be Roxilana? Was Roxi reincarnated into Selene, I mean honestly...I need to know!
The CLIFFHANGER 🤯 holy crap, I saw something coming but what we got was NOT where I thought it would be going.

This was fun with witchy magic, conjuring demons that wreck havoc, a centuries old feud/grudge with two families, and two of those descendants going from enemies to lovers.
I really like Issa. She is very devoted to her sisters and mother even when her mother might not act like a mothering type towards her. I really liked how she stepped in front of Rowan to save his life when she didn't have to. It really showed that she cared and that she was trying to let go of her family's anger towards the Thorns.
I'm looking forward to going back to read book 1 and then to continue on with the series.

I've never read the Grimm Tale of Goose Girl but that didn't stop me from enjoying this witchy, Gothic retelling.
Cordelia is 14 years old and she lives with her mother Evangeline who enforces rules like no closed doors and no thinking of your own and when she disobeys, Cordelia is made to be "Obedient". Now her mother sets her sights on marrying a rich man.
The man's sister Hester knows right off that there is something not right with Evangeline. She by and by discovers that Evangeline is a sorceress and so sets about, with Cordelia's help, to take away her magic and the hols she has on her brother.
There are great side characters too in this dark tale that bring a little bit of light.
I'm going to read more of her works, I really enjoyed this book.

While the name witches is in the title, it is more horror and not magical (really) at all.
A group of friends go on Spring Break to a small island off the Florida coast. While there they become trapped by a wall of mist. It keeps creeping closer to them and if they don't figure a way to get out (a person does die trying) they will perish.
This is a story of social commentary. There's a rape (off page) and it dives into the truth that things like this (sexual harassment of all kinds) not only happens to females but can affect other genders. The rage that these women let out to get off the island is healing in lots of ways.

I loved reading about a magical school for witches, a witch who loses memories when she uses her magic and the plane crash that results in her waking up a man after 2 centuries who claims she's his long lost wife.
I really liked Selene's character. She was smart to write down things that she might want (or not) to remember after using magic. I love that she got a Familiar and it was a panther, how cool! Now Memnon- oh Memnon! He was deliciously hot and annoying and rude and I felt most of the time that he was pulling Selene's chain with the soul mate stuff.
The ending! What a great cliffhanger.....so manipulative though.

The title really paints a great picture for the story inside!
Mae was fired from her job through a disastrous aired grievance about a large donor and in order to find work where her old boss (hopefully) can't influence, she ends up hours away with her half brother. There she gets a job working for a minister of a megachurch who may not be in the up and up. She meets a man she could fall for and a Cat 5 hurricane to contend with.
I liked the magical realism where Mae Van can tell if a person has bad intentions because she sees a silver haze around their face. I loved that most people in this book helped Mae restore her faith in humanity. The ending scene where she openly defies her boss at the church during the hurricane *chef's kiss* I really loved this scene. Mae is such an amazing character.

At an elite school, there is evil lurking.
Finch gets a chance at being a part of Ulalume Academy, but she should be dead.... She drowned in an accident but she made it out alive, unlike her parents.
But she's alive at a cost and it will slowly be revealed. She and some other girls discover a being called Nerosi. She is incorporeal and can grant a "step up" of your desire, if asked, but always at a cost. As one girl gets sucked into Nerosi's clutches, it's up to Finch and her crush Selena to rid Nerosi of this world.
Ok.... Where are all the adults/responsible figures? This book is full of teenagers making big/possibly deadly mistakes and adult presences are nowhere to be found?! This was a weird book and the horror vibes were interesting.

I love a creepy Gothic manor with nefarious things going on inside!
Stella is a Dreamer. The manor takes information from their dreams (though I think it needed to be better explained what exactly they did with this information). The heads of the Manor are mysterious and a bit off...
I loved how Stella was able to find a way for her and her friends to escape. I liked being able to see some of the drags that Stella had and I need to know who this figure you never quite see in those dreams, is.
The ending was a bit open ended and I really hope we get another look (book) into this world especially with the events and the ones who got away and the ones who didn't.

This was a cute book about self discovery with supernatural elements.
Aoife is a mundane (non magical) girl whose parents force her to be part of their influencer/YouTube channel no matter that she hates it.
Luna is a witch - a very powerful one that tends to make mistakes with her magic.
These two will meet and then break up while a spell makes them forget each other. But somehow, the spell doesn't work like it should and they both have memories of their time together.
I liked that Aoife finally stood up for herself at the end.... With her parents and with her friend Karim.

I like the fake dating but felt it was a little more like a very real obsession that was too much.
Dmitri is super EVERYTHING with Olive.
I think the thing I really liked about this book was the love that Olive had for her brother and even though she was away for years (because he told her she'd be better off away from him and their dad), she really looked out for him at the right time.
I did however fly through this book and enjoyed much of it but a lot was just too much.
