This is a hard to rate but this is the first book in a rich series saga with Maris being initiated into the society. This is like some Jerry Springer Rich Fuck Boy Secret Society shit right here. But its like catnip and I need the next book. This is a darker book with a cliffhanger ending.

This was such a good opposites attract political romcom with a lot of heart and growth for the characters. I loved that aspect a lot.
I wish there was not so much miscommunication or lack of communication at times and some of the things Logan would say seemed a little over the top but also so cute.
It was cute and I definitely could see this being turned into a romcom movie and working.
There is some great discussions on book banning, budget cuts to Schools and libraries, stress on teachers and issues with politics with press, lobbyists and corruption.

This series will always hold a special place in my heart. I love a small town romance but add in that every single FMC is fat it makes me so happy. Sometimes there is like 1 and they always are insecure and feel unworthy of love. Mary shows us that we are worthy.
Lexi is the sister of Josh from book 2. She has held them together from a young age when death and abandonment made the two of them have to grow up way too quickly. Lexi kept walls up and didn’t think that she would ever have that special someone because she didn’t see it in the cards with her life and how busy it was. But enter in Liam, (Harry Styles inspired) MMC who’s bus broke down and now he is stuck in Mystic Falls and he’s happy about it. He has needed a break and has been struggling with how the music industry has been taking over his life and seeing him as a good versus a person.
We see both of them grow as people through their relationship. I loved that a lot.
Mary always writes incredible Fat Rep and I feel safe in her work. Liam is bi / pan( his terms) - he is very gender fluid and I loved that too.

I read this for my reading around the world- Iran
This book has me in a clutch hold all day. The audiobook was good! This is a Dual POV story between a mother and daughter and I really loved that.
It takes place from the 70s to late 90s. Darya has been using her math knowledge to make spreadsheets of eligible Iranian bachelors for her daughter, Mina. Mina is tired of her mother’s matchmaking.
We get some past storyline with their time living in Iran at the rise of Sadam Husain and his regime and when they finally immigrated to the states to get away. It was so interesting to see this aspect and how it might have been for families.
Mina has always been stuck between being Iranian and American and being the perfect immigrant daughter by going into business when she loves art. So she convinces her mother to return to Iran to see their family and friends still there. Mina and her mother return to Iran and while there Mina meets an Iranian man there carrying for his I’ll grandmother from the states.
Over all this was such a great book and I really appreciated seeing a glimpse into the life and experiences for Iranian people during this time period. Also loved the dynamics between Mina and Darya.

This is such a cute coming of age sapphic graphic novel!
I first read this book while getting my masters degree in social work and was so moved by Somaly Mam and what she has done to help other young girls get out of sex slavery in Cambodia.
While listening to the audiobook for my reading around the world I started to do some follow up research on her and the foundation to share and found that it’s come out that her story was fabricated, she has made other girls lie about being sex slaves and the work environment was extremely hostile at the foundation with how Mam would treat the workers- violence, threatens of harm and just being rude. So I’m not going to finish the book and find another one to read. I’m really sad by this.

I love Cora and Manuela! This sapphic historical romance will stay with me for sometime. I loved the sort of hidden yet not hidden society of sapphics in Paris who have learned to earn their ways in society in an effort to not have to rely on men they would marry.
Manuela is so confident, beautiful and so sure of her wants and I loved that. Cora is confident to the world but hides her wants and desires for the perceptions of her as a businesswoman. The two of them coming together made me so happy and I cannot wait for the 3rd book with Aurora. This series is one of my fav historical romances.

The amount of pressure on Prince to help care for his mother with MS and his younger brother due to his mom's health issues and the stress and hurt that Dani is going through after being SA's broke my heart. They are going through so much at such a young age!
Such an important and beautiful book.

Listen if you love the upper east side cut throat world of Gossip Girl mixed with the torture of Nicholas Sparks then you will love this book. If you do not like that then this is not the book for you.
Andie grew up in the upper east side, the family of luxury but a girl all alone and lonely. She meets Jace, the young vibrant young singer from the Bronx and they fall in love. They are separated through people lying and interfering in their love and then bam fast forward years later and honestly this is where I was getting into the book again with the entrance of Reid, the single dad but then that whole plot was dragged out and then just lost me. I was them doomed to finish this damn book until it ended. I know I am really selling this book right now but sometimes make the plot have a POINT and make it move please I am begging. Otherwise it is like one torture fest. This book needed to be 200 pages shorter and it would have been better. Not 100% my tea but better.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an audio arc.
