Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for the audio ARC to read and review.
Narrators: Mela Lee and Preston Butler- both narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and adding to the storytelling.
This is a romance book with a dash of paranormal. It is a dual timeline, 2024 and 1920s Harlem Renaissance era. Ricki Wilde is the daughter of high society Atlanta family that is in the funeral home business. She has ADHD and has always been seen as the outcast in the family. They feel she is impulsive and directionless. Ricki has a passion for flowers and wants to open her own flower shop. When her family denies her she is given an opportunity through this funny and sweet 90+ year old women, Ms. Della.
Ms. Della offers up her Harlem brownstone, basement floor for the flower shop to be opened up. Ricki jumps at the opportunity and she opens up her flower shop. One day she runs into this man in the community gardens and she is drawn to him. The two of them cannot help but keep running into each other.
Then we also get the 1920s timeline of a musician as he comes up from the south to Harlem with the goal of growing his musical career. He faces racism, discrimination and the history of the time period as a Black man in society. We get to see the obstacles but also his successes and love as he dates.
I loved this book and related so much to Ricki and her desire for friends but also being an introvert and wanting to keep your energy to yourself. She was funny, dynamic and I loved seeing her grow and the character development.
We also get a peak at the characters from Seven Days in June and that was fun. I highly recommend you add this to those library holds or pre-orders!
CW: suicide, racism, hate crime, cancer, death, terminal illness, ableism, mentions of addiction, miscarriage and body shaming.

Thank you to the publisher and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC to read and review. This review is my own.
Charon x Eurydice x Orpheus polam romance features a friends to lovers plot, puppy/shame/praise kink, and Eurydice is a switch. Charon and Eurydice become friends turned lovers and Charon wants more with Eurydice but he recognizes that she is still hung up emotionally on her ex- Orpheus. He seeks Orpheus out and asks him to make it right with Eurydice so she can move past him.
Eurydice is shocked when Orpheus shows up but is also shocked on how much she likes being in control and Charon loves seeing her being in control and the impact it has on Orpheus. The three of them begin this sexy grovel that turns more and that painting kinky scene will be in my head for a very long time.
I also loved seeing more of who is behind the take down of the Upper 13. Things are about to pop off in this world even more and I am eager for who is next.

I have to admit that this one will give you all the feels, make you squirm a bit and also just swoon and fan yourself. It's such a delight.
Callum is a shy Irish Mortician who has a stutter and is demi-sexual. He needs to get married in order to keep the family business, funeral home in the family name. His father is trying to sell it out from under him.
Lark is a widow grappling with the grief of her husband and the turmoil of their relationship before he passed 2 years ago. She picks up her career as an animator and goes to Ireland to work on a project with the hope of it turning into a possible long term option. She ends up living next door to Cal and decides to take him under her wing to help him find a match.
There is such a good friendship build that happens with these two and I really loved seeing that. We gets some humor, mouse antics and it delves into grief and toxic workplace for topics and I really appreciate the care the author has with the subjects.
I def would recommend the book!

This book OMG this book. this is not an in depth review but just damn this one is so good. I do not typically seek out surprise pregnancy books due to some trauma I have with pregnancy but I really really loved this one. The friends to lovers connection that happens with Bo and Win is one of my favorites and will stick with me for so long. The fact that they both have limb differences and how the author handles it is incredible and I adore every second of this book and if this is not in my top books of the year I will be shocked.

🏒: FMC, Kate is a former hockey player that gets reconnected back with playing throughout the book. I loved seeing this because Kate is a Fat MC and we need more fat bodied characters that engage in fitness and sports to combat the fatphobia surrounding fat bodies and movement.
Wes is also a hockey player and in town for an event with his teammate and friend, Kate’s twin brother. He mistakes Kate to be a new skater and offers to help her. She goes along with his help until her brother challenges her to a race and Wes finds out he has been played.
Kate is on a journey of ❤️🩹 herself and reconnection with hockey after she took the sport as far as she could as a female athlete. When she was losing the sport that made up so much of her identity she also was going through a domestic violent relationship that she is still healing and processing from. I loved seeing this in a book with a fat bodied character because I have wanted to see more than fat trauma in books with fat bodied characters. So I appreciate that Mary did that with this one.
This story is also about Wes learning to manage anger as he faces conflict in his career. Kate and Wes’ story is also full of love, heart and the small town charm I have come to love and expect in this series. My own personal wish is that it was more of a slow burn with Wes vs him falling so fast.

I am loving Diana Quincy's historical romances. She will give you a strong FMC who wants independence outside of a man.
FMC, Leela is Palestinian in this book as well and she is amazing. She is a widow and step mother to an adult who is marriage eligible. She is a writer and travels the Arab countries alone and writes about her journeys. She runs into the MMC, Elliot and they have one night before he is off to marry. They have electric chemistry. Then he goes to court his future bride, who is the step daughter of the amazing woman he cannot get out of his head since their one night. Leela is completely taken aback with him being the one courting the sweet step daughter she adores. The tension, the story and characters were great and I really enjoyed this one.
