I loved the ADHD/ panic attack representation. This book started strong for me and slowly just went downhill.

I didn’t like this very much. “Sugar” grated my nerves and could he say it any more than he did I mean pet names can be cute but they can be overdone.

Can authors please stop over reminding us the readers that it’s brother’s best friend especially during times when you are thinking about sex. It’s a buzzkill and feels weird.

Some spoilers below———————————-

The scene in the bar where he throws her over his shoulder because gasp some guy was hitting on her and somehow this grown ass woman who has handled men her whole life couldn’t to him. 😩 no…. And then that led straight into sex.

I just feel like this a predictable cowboy romance- he’s a alpha male, sex scenes are then predictable to an alpha male and just 🥱 I know I’m being harsh but I had really high expectations and feel so let down. Everyone says book 2 is better and I have it so I’m going to try it.

I loved this book so much. The fake dating that led to led to real dating, the conversations about being a BIPOC author in the publishing world, the opposites attract, the surprise mom twist, the humor, family dynamics and sibling relationships had me just so happy. I legit didn't put this book down. I read it in one day. Okay I did put it down at points in time but it was sooooo good!

This is such a tough read but also so necessary. It touches on heavy topics of sexual abuse, slut shaming, sexual harassment so please be gentle on yourselves with this one.

I really loved the friendships that blossom and it is all in their connection to being victims of the same person but although brought together by something horrible they start to find healing, comradery and beauty. The FMC also has select mutism- autistic and is bisexual. There are other characters that are queer as well- a nonbinary character and another bizsexul character.

I struggled with the parents in this one and how emotionally the FMC had to raise them at times and how much pressure that was and I wish that had been a little more flushed out because although I feel for the mom and understand it is also not okay to do that to her daughter.
