She’s outdone herself again. I couldn’t put it down.

I love how everything comes together, the unexpected twist at the end which makes the story that much more incredible.

I enjoyed it and learnt a lot. It's encouraging to know that I'm not alone in my thoughts and struggles around this topic!

The initial chapters were a bit dry and slow, but Chapters 5-7 really  resonated with me. The initial chapters were quite Australia-centric, which was quite interesting and refreshing from the usual US or UK-centric perspective that many books in the English language have, but of course not the most relevant to me (a Singaporean).

As a scientist, I found the descriptions of scientific study in Antarctica really interesting. But the experience of living in a semi-closed environment of a ship, working on a tight deadline and facing varied challenges was also very interesting.
