I was looking for a bit of spice and this was so supremely disappointing for me. The characters are flat and bizarre. The "vampire" characters are just plain weird. It felt haphazard and thrown together without much thought. Will not be continuing the series.

This was a hilarious about a girl who can't die trying to give the middle finger to whoever is keeping her locked in a time loop. Instead of saving the Kingdom, from the Dark Lord Davi is going to become the Dark Lord instead. Davi remembers all the things from her previous lives, including who she loved and how she became strong and led an army, but she still has to work to get the Wilders on her side. She has a voracious sexual appetite and does not discriminate, which leads to major complications in her quest to become the Dark Lord. Along the way she amasses a loyal following and the respect of several different types of characters.

This was an interesting read, and a departure from the norm for me. It was a slow burn and I could see how someone reading a digital or print version could get bored and DNF it. I listened to the audiobook version and it was great! Kept me hooked and wanting to keep going. The narrator was fantastic! I am eagerly waiting to get my hands on the second book from Libby.

After having recently reading a book about Hatshepsut I was immediately intrigued by this storyline. It was a compelling book about romance, independence, and grief in its purest form. I love how Annie comes into herself finally after learning how to let go of mothering her mother and Charlotte is able to have a semblance of peace in her later years. How she managed to keep going after all the learning about her parents and everyone else keeping things from her I'll never know.

This was a cutesy regency-ttpe romance. As an early copy from the publisher there were a few things I think could be improved on but otherwise it was engaging and fun. The problem for me came with the actual sex scenes, which we don't get until the end. Her language choice was a little off-putting even of it was appropriate for the time. At that point I could have just done without it.

This was an interesting book about the Troubles in North Ireland during a summer in 1975. It was still fairly early days but violence, classism, and bigotry based on religion were already a big part of everyone's daily life. I felt more connected to Cushla's desire to protect her student Davy than her affair with Michael. I personally feel more compelled to help a child and their family in need, even against popular opinion, rather than sympathize with a married man having an affair. That part felt a little too like Mr. Rochester and Jane Eyre. At any rate, anyone who is interested to get a slice of what life was like in Northern Ireland during the Troubles should definitely read this book. Well worth it.
