This was confusing and a bit weird for me, personally. Only in the timeline - the writing was beautiful and she had some amazing insight into motherhood and being a middle-aged woman. I'm not quite sure what Nina, Elena, the doll have to do with anything except serve as a focal point for her self-reflection. Why inflict pain on her? Why bother? It was just weird.

This book was informative but seemed to hinge on just as much about male pirates as female. I wish there was les .exposition about male pirates. I understand historical background and little to no real information about female pirates but some stories were a bit of a stretch.

A horrific look into the world and mind of the most controversial author to date.

Another knockout for the Shades of Magic series. I loved Tes but am waiting to see how Kosika plays into all of the drama unfolding.

A great sequel to The Secret Lives of Countey Gentlemen.  It picks up 13 years after the last book follows Luke (Goldie) who is now an adult with a very large chip on his shoulder. The new Lord Oxney is just the kind of strong man to help him get rid rid of it for good.

Ali Hazelwood sure has a certain type of male she prefers. Her female characters are fun and quirky in different ways but the men are always huge, brooding,  and misunderstood.
