Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders by Vincent Bugliosi

I didn't know anything of the Manson murders, I knew who he was, but other than that nada. I went in fresh and holy crap this book chilled me. I'm fascinated by true crime, if you are also, this is a must read.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

I read this book in school where we dissected it and analysed it over and over for essays, I enjoyed it then. Last year I read it again, just so I could take my time, and enjoy the book properly, now that I'm 12 years older I enjoy it even more.

Great book, I honestly believe the world will be like this eventually. Thousands of books are coming out now, years later based on this theme, it seems to be the 'trend', but nothing quite beats the origional.
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

Read this in school and several times as an adult just because. Amazing book that lets you touch intimately into a chilling part of history.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

The world, the characters.. thr story, amazing. The way it is written really makes me struggle with it, but I persevered because I love the world and the magic. You either love it or hate ur, it's a shame because I think a lot of people grapple with the 'style' of the writing.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

I don't know what it is, I'm a fan of fantasy, of magic and make believe.. but I hate the story of Narnia. I just don't like it, I don't connect with it, I don't feel anything for any of the characters.. I've tried to read it four or five times, because everyone else can't stop singing it's praises, but it's just a no go for me. It is very well written though.

Loved this! Was like nothing I'd ever read before, I couldn't put it down. I really connected with characters and got emotionally invested, also got my other half and my friends into the books!
